I’ve just screen shot both “ capsules “ for fall dressing reference ! Can you share your styling ideas for the plaid shirt ? I haven’t worn one in , well almost never , but I’m warming up to the idea . It has to be just the right plaid though ….and the one you’ve bought is perfect .
Nice! I like wearing overshirts, like the Frances de Lourdes one also featured. With a tee or lightweight turtleneck underneath, unbuttoned if it's warm, a few buttons if not. With a sweater on the shoulders tied at the neck. I treat them like I would a lightweight sweater. Yes, the colors on the Severson one are good, and even better in person (slightly richer).
I would love to hear the answer to this as well. I come from the land of the flannel shirt but would love to hear the Jennifer Alfano take on the layer.
Your weekend wear is my everyday wear, and my weekend wear does not involve clothing with a fitted waist. I do live country-ish and there is always something to be done in the yard, and I have dogs. It works best when my clothes aren’t too precious. This fall I’ve pulled out some black jeans and have been experimenting with them. Browns and camels do me no favors so, I will attempt to copy your ideas but substitute cooler tones. And.. like others have said stying inspiration would be great, especially for the Birks. I have some Boston’s but only wear them in the house. Do you wear yours out and about?
Jennifer, I was thrilled to see your mention of the Quoddy Moc given the price point and practicality. However, when I went into Old Stone Trade's web site to check on their return policy, they tell you that each item is considered bespoke and therefore nothing is returnable. I find this a bit puzzling. Since they're not measuring each person's foot, how is it "bespoke"? Love all your other picks and enjoy how you combine the brown/camel with black.
I have thoughts on this and maybe help. I do think that Quoddy will take your foot measurements if you need that kind of sizing. I know they offer it on their own site. I am guessing they did standard sizing because it's easier for both sides; personally I am too lazy to draw my feet and measure them.
I am sure if you get in touch with AST, they can help you with this.
The Row can persuade me, not always, but sometimes. Plus living in NY means wearing black often, so it's easy to embrace, they also feel like more casual pants.

Mine are so comfortable!
Thanks much Jennifer! That helps a lot!
I struggle with the idea of black jeans but you’ve inspired me to reconsider them.
PS I’ve never met a weird brown I didn’t like hehe

Thank you for the alert on the new FDL shirt! Just purchased! I have the navy and the oatmeal and I wear them constantly.
A fan like me! Thinking I will wear this one most often.
