I was wondering if I could throw a challenge out there. It stresses me out every year to buy gifts for a good friend I've known for decades, who has excellent taste, and no issues with buying whatever she wants, when she wants, with no consideration of cost. She bought herself a Birkin for her 60th birthday last year. I want to buy her something she'll love and don't want to take the easy road of a gift certificate. She loves black, doesn't want perfume, or gifts of champagne or food. She wears classic lines, simple layers, and mixes high & low (except when it comes to jewelry) with ease. The challenge? Can I find something for her under $200? Or $300?
Thanks for another lovely post. Would love to know how you style the paraboots? I’ve long admired them in Japan where they’re considered a classic but not sure how to style back home.
As I started reading this post I was hoping you’d cover Toteme’s Garderob - and there it was! I’m old enough that it evokes Donna Karan’s “7 easy pieces”. And I agree I can recreate much of it with what’s in my closet. Maybe all we all really need is a suitcase wardrobe.
Thank you! Someone just spoke, with great authority and certainty, on this subject. Saying an outfit looks “unfinished.” I’ve been playing around with belts recently and they do enhance certain outfits, but I often prefer certain looks without one.
my tokyo bag for next week will be looking quite similar but with heattech in place of the De Lourdes, hahaha! i'm flirting with the notion of subbing in brown (gasp!) for the grey this trip lol. a "brack" suitcase perhaps? have a wonderful trip!

Oh! Challenge accepted!! This might be a post.
I have ideas.
Fabulous! I can't wait to read it!
Let us know how the Paraboots are if you get them! P.S. The hair is still looking fabulous! X
The newish C Uniqlo also makes some lovely tissue thin turtlenecks that layer well (nicer, sheerer fabric than their usual)

Wondering if you are brave enough to handwash your FdL Romy tees? Or does “dry clean only” really mean dry clean only? Enjoy Paris!
I always hand wash my FDLS. Thank you!
Thank you!
This is a little off-topic,but do you feel if pants have belt loops, that a belt should always be worn?
I do not. I hardly wear belts.

A brack suitcase sounds chic. And heattech are a good option! Have fun in Tokyo...on my travel wish list.
