Just grabbed the Barbour, as I've been lusting after The Row Frankie (but it's not going to happen) and I love Barbour jackets anyway, and maybe the OG's are better anyway. I'm committed to getting good on throwing pottery on the wheel, and I've been practicing everyday, with some lessons scheduled ahead. YouTube has incredible videos as well. After reading Heidi's comment, I'm going to borrow her idea for entertaining because I'm getting bored with being with friends and just talking politics which has been going on for such a long time, and hasn't been (until now) exactly upbeat or hopeful. So many fun games for adults. Thanks Jennifer (and Heidi)
Let’s bring back board games! And I’m also feeling hopeful lately (unfortunately still mixed with fear) about politics.
It’s been nice to have activities where you have to detach for a while and focus on a game. The world goes on hold for that time and there is this nostalgic feeling that comes with a good board game.
Can’t wait to see your progress with the pottery. Your paintings are so beautiful!! Xx
Jennifer, Perfect timing of a post! Just purchased some basic watercolor materials to try my hand again. Goal is to just start this weekend. I took a weekend course a couple decades (??!) ago but never finished the course due to work and travel. I haven’t tried painting with any medium for many years. Will view some videos online to start me on the basics with the goal of painting some lemon groves based on a photo from a recent Ravello trip.
My fall activity to stop buying so many Barbour jackets but now I want this latest one from your post. Also learning French on Duolingo but not making much progress so might go back to my Zoom teacher who was amazing (if anyone wants her info please let me know!). I’ve been hosting pizza & trivial pursuit nights upstate which reminds me that you have to visit again. Xx
Now that there's an app, I want to work on learning my native language, Chickasaw. My daughter's worked her way through the whole program a day at a time this summer.
I’ve always made it a practice to attempt a new “something” at a milestone birthday. For me in this year, I am trying to learn how to golf and how to jump rope which I never learned when I was a child.
Bought a Barbour jacket in Scotland this summer! Last night I spent $$ on the needlepoint supplies I need to finally get started on learning and completing a kit I purchased a while back. This made me feel much less guilty about to.
Now a choir member! 💥🎶🎶🎶💥. Enjoying your work still a LOT. I love the mixture of structured well thought through pieces and Hodge Podge asides. Thank you!
Love this post -- and I always love an OG Waxed Barbour. I'm spending the fall getting acquainted with my new greenhouse and all the off-season possibilities it offers. A little intimidating, as I am a pretty fair-weather gardener, but I think if I take it one step as a time, it will be fun and interesting. Enjoy your new endeavors!!

Love how your artistry has evolved--you are so talented, what a gift.
And yes to board games. Copy that!
And the Barbour is a winner! I love it.

Ok, so maybe we need group French lessons. And I need to get more Trivial Pursuit cards and more games.
So funny, me too, but I just caved and bought the one Jennifer posted about!
More importantly: Congratulations on the Bloomberg article quote!!!
Thank you!

That is super cool. Then you both can talk to each other.

Both will be good for the mind and the body. Good luck!

My mom spent 20 years needle pointing an elaborate Xmas stocking. No rush.
Great piece! I am auditioning to join a choir this week 🫣
Amazing. My sister is a gifted singer, I am far from it. Good luck!

You too! Hope yours is fruitful (no pun intended, well maybe)!
going to try to knit a sweater
Oh....that sounds like a good plan. Maybe a winter project for me.
