I am inflight on my way to CA as I write this for my upcoming jewelry trunk shows at Goop (Brentwood tomorrow and Saturday, Marin September 27th + 28th) so stop by if you’re around.
I enjoy the random thought pieces. Some random thoughts to add. When I saw the model with the pink sweater and blouse I laughed with joy. Back in the early 2000’s I wore a similar combination on constant repeat. I may start repeating it again. Random thought #2 several years ago I bought some dark flare leg jeans. They come in so handy when I don’t want to wear jeans but I don’t want to wear dress pants either.
As for taupe, would appreciate any recommendations of pieces you’ve found and like as I seek to add more of it to my wardrobe. Camel and beige and other tans are everywhere (and don’t look great with my coloration) but taupe is more elusive!
Absolutely love the Khaite suede jacket, but it is out of my price range for now. Went out on a limb and bought the Frame Mix Suede Fringe Coat. Definitely not as subdued as Khaite, but really beautiful in person and well made (Frame website photos don’t do it justice). Can be worn on its own. A statement piece in my mind. 25% right now, which made it an easier buy!
My reaction to the “tie it under one arm” idea is probably unique, but I do wear gear like that while I’m training. I row, which means that on cooler days I’ll start wearing a longer sleeve layer over a short sleeve one, and then remove it once I’m warm. I will tie my longer sleeve shirt so it sits under one arm after I finish my row and get back onto the dock. I find it’s less likely to fall off of me compared to wearing the shirt over my shoulders or tied around my waist.
So now that you’re planting a seed that this could also be a choice for everyday wear, I’m curious about trying it to see if I feel the same way about it in that context.

I love the Nili Lotan corduroy blazer. 🤎

Visited the new Totem yesterday -- it is a beautiful store and the team seemed very attentive. A nice visit.
