Quick note, if you are in NYC today or Saturday come say hello at GOOP where I will be with my jewelry. Besides some sparklers, there are plenty of other goodies to browse. I will be coming home with Gwyneth’s new Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Serum (I’ve been waiting to get a Vit C serum) and more Lift + Depuff Eye Masks (which I honestly need and use daily) and perhaps the red version of the boyfriend sweater I have in Tawny). Also, the new designer of GOOP’s clothing cut her teeth at The Row, so…
Then, it’s that time of year when I have to trek around the city in the rain and try to look pulled together. The coat part is a breeze because I love trench coats. I still have my classic Celine, and my Toteme Pisa (now called their signature trench), but I am wanting a refresh. I have my eye on the latest Toteme black lightweight version, which seems like an addition that is different enough to warrant room in my closet. (Side note: I had a speed shopping minute at the Toteme store in Soho; the pieces I chose will be the foundation of my Spring wardrobe. Next post.) I also like to mix up my coat silhouettes and lately, I’ve been wearing my balmacaan style Kule Albie.
What goes underneath? Really anything. Though this image below (looks like classic Peter Lindbergh) I found on Pinterest makes me want to get the Frances de Lourdes Lucie turtleneck in Creme (the only color I don’t have), I like the sheerness, though I am not sure I’m brave enough to wear it with a layer. I would probably wear this Leset version solo.
As far as bags, I try to avoid carrying leather, so I carry my Rue de Verneuil. The Row banana bag is on my some day list, but I also like this utilitarian Uniqlo nylon bag.
Then shoes. This is where I don’t have an answer I truly like. Usually I just go with sneakers, but am trying to find a short rain boot that doesn’t have a giant logo or exaggerated lug sole and it’s hard. There are old Toteme rain boots you can source. But maybe you, dear, chic reader, have some ideas.
I have put my fave coats and bags here in my ShopMy Rainy Day collection. I would love to add some shoes, so please share! I will update later….have to run now so I’m not late.

I own and like the Hunter ankle boots in black. Easy to wear and get the job done.
The Kule Albie Trench on my spring wish list! ❤️
