Phoebe Thoughts + My Grey Obession
The wait is over and it's sold out...but onto a fave fall color
I am not going to lie, I checked Phoebe Philo’s site when I woke up at one a.m. this morning, again at 5 when my husband left and then regularly until I had to get going and figured she was being obtuse about the launch, when a friend texted me while getting the train that it was up.
Thoughts. Yes, it is expensive, but I heard that prior to launch so wasn’t caught off guard by it. I think I ordered a pair of shoes, but the site was glitchy and my card wasn’t going through, then I got three emails for three different orders of same shoe….live chatted with someone who said I was only charged for one, but now I can’t click into any order so perhaps they cancelled them all?! (I’m not having luck with shoes this season.) Addendum: They cancelled two orders the following morning, fingers crossed the one left makes it my way.
Beyond technical difficulties, I like the collection in theory. It is modern and clean with details that are truly different. It’s a bit tough, powerful and sexy—things that I’ve missed of late in clothing. To me, it’s the kind of redacted wardrobe a woman wants now: You need a couple of pairs of pants, a leather jacket, a coat, a trench, something to wear out at night when you get dressed up and something that is a little off and pulls at your emotions. That’s it and that’s all. I can’t buy anything this season but the shoes (maybe), and I’m interested to see the clothes in person, which is going to be impossible unless someone I know bought some. But I can tell that it’s already impacting the way I’m looking at things.
Moving on to Grey
Grey is my favorite “non color” color. I wear it all year long, but religiously in fall, so following is what I call a Pinterest board of items and inspo…Nothing really to say here, just hopefully a calming click through. I will jabber on in the next newsletter!

I like and respect your true thoughts. I, a novice Phoebe person, wonders where to begin? PS. I agree with your list of the “needs” of a person clothing wise excepting when one is the night time butterfly looking for her life time leaf? Only time for the female of the species to continue to entrance the male?
