I love dressing up and frankly wish I had more occasions to do so. Not ballgowns, but heels, a dress or tuxedo jacket, lipstick, jewelry. In general, I do think there is a lack of polished glamour out there. Last night I went to dinner en famille at Balthazar and I dressed up (see fuzzy imagery below), but I was almost the only one there who had made an effort. (A whole table of guys, because they definitely weren’t men in my book, in baseball hats.) The night before when we were uptown at Bemelman’s Bar at The Carlyle, which is a favorite wintery night out, the crowd was half seriously dressed up, half in jeans.
I believe in a sense of occasion. Why not make a little effort? I find the whole mood goes up a notch or two when people do. So, with the holiday season in full swing, this post is dedicated to a visual edit of glamorous moments that have caught me eye. Happy Holidays!

Baseball caps? Even that reeks of entitlement and just not caring. Here’s to dressing decorum.
I couldn’t agree more! A friend and I recently went to a Christmas concert (at a church). We were appalled at how people were dressed. We say, respect the venue and yourself! Merry Christmas! 🎄
