Moving on to another jeweler. This post starts with a disclaimer: In no world do I imagine myself in league with the talents of Elsa Peretti. In my dreams. Do I find her inspiring? Emphatically yes, always…since I can remember. So please do not conflate my inclusion of my jewelry with a post on her style a sign that I am on par.
With that being said, some of my favorite ideas for hot weather dressing come from Elsa. Specifically the image of her below in a tank (or bathing suit?), a pareo and chunky beads.
The Dries skirt (below) that I included in my Spring to Summer wardrobe (which is currently on sale and I haven’t worn mine yet, lol), fits this mood. I love dark, earthy tones in the summer as a departure from all the pastels, and this also fits with an old tear sheet from T Magazine circa 2013 (styled by Vanessa Traina), that is always on my reference board. I also have an older Matteau pareo in dark brown/black print (these are their current colors). There are also these.
I bought the tank at COS (it is a great shape) and the Iris von Arnim cashmere sweater was a gift that I was wearing until the current heat wave (it’s coming with me to Australia where it is winter next week). A super roomy Bembien beach tote, and of course my new Summer Souvenir Il Sole Pendant. I plan to wear my iteration at the GOOP trunk next week when it will be meltingly hot.
I love older Elsa and her puppy going to the beach just as much. The best caftans IMO are Su Paris and Two New York—I have some from both, eternally classic. Then maybe a tiny bag from Hunting Season and some classic espadrilles.
I also love this lineup of her bags. If I carried a bigger bag, I would get this Hunting Season (currently on sale).
